NZXT Introduces the N7 B850 Socket AM5 Motherboard
NZXT has unveiled the N7 B850 Socket AM5 motherboard, available in two different trims. The first trim features an all-black design, while the second trim is a 2-tone combination of white and black. Both trims come equipped with black PCBs, with the 2-tone model featuring matte white accents on the front shrouding, M.2 heatsink, rear I/O shroud, and VRM heatsinks. The motherboard is built on the AMD B850 chipset and boasts a 16+2+1 phase CPU VRM with 80 A DrMOS on all phases. It utilizes a combination of 24-pin ATX and two 8-pin EPS power connectors for power delivery and features an 8-layer PCB with 2 oz copper layers.
The Socket AM5 on the motherboard supports up to 256 GB of memory across four DDR5 DIMM slots, with speeds of up to DDR5-8000. It also includes one PCI-Express 5.0 x16 slot, two M.2 NVMe Gen 5 slots, and a third M.2 NVMe slot running at Gen 4 x4 speeds connected to the B850 FCH. Additional features include four SATA 6 Gbps ports, a 10 Gbps USB-C port, two 10 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 2 type-A ports, four 5 Gbps USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, and USB 2.0 ports. The motherboard also supports NZXT CAM for real-time monitoring, fan-control, and lighting control.
Networking options on the NZXT N7 B850 include Wi-Fi 6E + Bluetooth 5.2 powered by a MediaTek RZ608 WLAN controller, and a 5 Gbps wired Ethernet driven by a Realtek 8126 series PHY. The onboard audio solution is provided by a Realtek ALC1220 CODEC.
