RDNA 4 GPU Performance Revealed

Just a few days after the release of RDNA 4-based GPUs from Team Red, the 3D Mark performance of the top-tier Radeon RX 9070 XT GPU has been unveiled. Initial scores seem to meet expectations, although ray tracing performance is lacking. The thread on Chiphell has been removed, but screenshots were captured in time.

Details show that the Radeon RX 9070 XT will have a high TBP of around 330 watts, as shown in a FurMark screenshot, surpassing previous estimates. With 16 GB of GDDR6 memory and base and boost clocks of 2520 and 3060 MHz, the Radeon RX 9070 XT achieved an impressive 14,591 points in Time Spy Extreme and around 6,345 points in Speed Way. It is likely that more performance can be squeezed out of the RDNA 4 GPU as drivers mature.

Based on current scores, the Radeon RX 9070 XT falls short of the Radeon RX 7900 XTX in both tests but outperforms the GeForce RTX 4080 Super in the non-ray-traced TS Extreme test. In the ray-traced Speed Way test, the RX 9070 XT lags behind the RTX 4080 Super. Despite this, considering its lower price compared to the RTX 4080 Super, this is still an impressive achievement. An admin at Chiphell suggested that those considering an RTX 50 card should wait, hinting at significant changes in the GPU market. It seems that RDNA 4 may offer compelling price-to-performance that could challenge mid-range options.
