TUXEDO Computers Announces Pre-Orders for New Sirius 16 Gaming Laptop
TUXEDO Computers, a specialist in Linux notebooks, is now accepting pre-orders for their latest gaming laptop, the Sirius 16. This laptop features AMD's latest generation Ryzen 7 7840HS "Phoenix" APU and a Radeon RX 7600M XT RDNA3 GPU, all housed in a sleek all-aluminium chassis design. The laptop aims to provide a "sleek gamer look" with programmable RGB keys. This is TUXEDO's first all-AMD configuration, and they have not held back on performance, allowing the full TDP rating of the Phoenix APU and keeping the RDNA3 GPU at its rated TGP under full CPU+GPU loads. The Sirius 16 also features a dual-fan cooling system with venting on both sides and the rear of the chassis.
The laptop is powered by a 230 W power brick and an 80 Wh replaceable battery. TUXEDO claims a battery life of up to 10 hours at minimum display brightness with wireless disabled and no programmable lighting enabled, or a more realistic 6 hours at medium brightness with wireless enabled and under minimal "office work" load. The Sirius 16 is equipped with a thin-bezel 16.1" 1440p 165 Hz display with 100% sRGB color gamut coverage, making it suitable for semi-professional photo editing and multimedia use. It also features a full-size per-key programmable RGB keyboard and a color-adjustable light bar along the front edge of the chassis.
In terms of upgrades and connectivity, the Sirius 16 supports up to 2 M.2 SSDs directly under the bottom panel and has two DDR5 SODIMM slots that can support capacities up to 96 GB. The laptop also includes various I/O ports such as USB Type-C, USB Type-A, HDMI, Ethernet, and audio jacks. Pre-orders for the TUXEDO Sirius 16 start at 1700 EUR and include 16 GB DDR5-5600 and a 500 GB Samsung 980 SSD. Shipping is expected to begin in the next few weeks, with first deliveries targeted for mid-December 2023.
